Mexico to Lower Age for Pensions, Double Amount, President Says

President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador lowered Mexico’s pension age to 65 from 68, and said payments to retirees will gradually increase until the the current sum doubles by 2024.
Pensions will increase by 15% in July and by 20% plus inflation in January of each successive year until they reach 6,000 pesos ($290) every two months, Lopez Obrador said, according to a video posted on his website on Sunday.
