Marcelo Marangon has been going to Citigroup Inc.’s nearly empty office building in Sao Paulo since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, confident he knew what to do if he became infected. Now, he says, the situation has become more frightening.

“The fear is that, if something does happen, you may not be able to get care,” Marangon, the bank’s chief executive officer for Brazil, said in an interview. “It is in fact really scary, right? It is a sad and dramatic situation.”
