President Joe Biden said Wednesday that the Obama administration paid a political price for not more openly and loudly celebrating passage of its 2009 stimulus, suggesting he won’t make the same mistake with his $1.9 trillion pandemic relief bill.

Former President Barack Obama “was so modest” about taking a “victory lap” after he signed the 2009 legislation to help the nation recover from the financial crisis, Biden told House Democrats in a video meeting.
