President Joe Biden has invited a bipartisan group of lawmakers to the White House on Wednesday to discuss a global shortage of semiconductors that’s idled some U.S. auto production, according to two people familiar with the matter.

The meeting is expected to accompany Biden’s signing of an executive order aimed at strengthening supply chains for microchips and other vital products, one of the people said.
