Uganda Unblocks Internet, Social Media After Election Clampdown

Uganda said it restored full access to the internet and social-media networks after shutting them down on the eve of elections last month, according to Information Minister Peter Ogwang.
President Yoweri Museveni secured a sixth term in the Jan. 14 vote after a campaign that was marred by violence and allegations of numerous irregularities. At least 54 people were killed in protests following the arrest of the main opposition leader, musician-turned-politician Bobi Wine.
