Germany, France Have World’s Strongest Carbon Policies

The U.S. ranked behind all other members of the Group of Seven world economies, as well as China, in policies to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions, according to BloombergNEF’s first Carbon Policy ScoreboardBloomberg Terminal. Germany and France placed first and second in the ranking of 19 nations across six sectors, whose maximum score of 100% is based on factors including transparency, achievability and impact. The leading countries have strong incentives for renewable power and batteries, and have also begun introducing measures to cut emissions in areas outside of electricity.
