Shiseido Co. agreed to sell its shampoo and affordable skin-care business to CVC Capital Partners in a deal worth 160 billion yen ($1.5 billion), as the Japanese beauty giant shifts more of its focus to making and selling high-end skin products.

The operations divested include Shiseido’s well-known drugstore brands, including Tsubaki hair-care products and Senka face wash, the company said in a statementBloomberg Terminal Wednesday. The company had earlier confirmed it was in talks to sell the unit following a Bloomberg report last month.
