Riksbank board members appear to be interpreting its latest quantitative easing update differently, with a deputy contradicting remarks by Governor Stefan Ingves over the scope of the program, according to analysts who attended a Riksbank presentation.
Deputy Governor Martin Floden, who entered a reservation against adding 200 billion kronor ($23 billion) to the Riksbank’s quantitative easing program, said on Friday that funds from maturing bonds will be included in the additional amount. The comments directly contradict remarks by Ingves on Thursday, in which he said redemptions will be reinvested in addition to the new funds allocated to bond purchases.
