The Boston Red Sox are poised to take the dubious honor of paying the most per win of any team in Major League Baseball for the second season in a row.

The Red Sox, who won the 2017 World Series, have seen their pitching staff fall apart, partly due to injuries, while the team’s farm system -- among the worst in baseball -- has failed to provide replacements.
