A federal judge rejected Donald Trump’s latest bid to block the Manhattan district attorney’s subpoena of his tax records, but the president’s planned appeal could push the matter past the election.

U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero Thursday rejected Trump’s claims that the subpoena to his accountants at Mazars USA was issued in bad faith and is overbroad. District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. is seeking eight years of the president’s taxes and other financial records as part of a grand jury investigation looking into payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.
