Upon taking his second oath of office as US president, Donald Trump made swift and extensive use of the unilateral powers he wields. Trump signed off on a series of executive actions aimed at, among other things, ending automatic US citizenship for the children of unauthorized migrants, withdrawing the country from the Paris agreement on climate change, and eliminating diversity, equity and inclusion efforts in the federal government.
