Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak has deployed unprecedented support to help U.K. companies and workers cope with the economic damage wrought by the coronavirus pandemic. The Office for Budget Responsibility last week estimated the response so far will cost taxpayers almost 133 billion pounds ($168 billion) in the current fiscal year.
