New York’s Attorney General Letitia James is appealing a judge’s order to reinstate the state’s June 23 Democratic presidential primary election, which had been canceled because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

James filed notice Wednesday that the state is asking the federal appeals court in Manhattan to review the order. U.S. District Judge Analisa Torres said on Tuesday that the cancellation violated voters’ constitutional rights. The decision came in a suit filed by former presidential candidate Andrew Yang.
