Vietnam’s trade ministry recommends that the prime minister end restrictions on rice exports from the start of next month because supplies on the domestic market are sufficient, according to a proposal posted on the trade ministry’s website.

The country has achieved its goal of curbing exports to ensure food security during a difficult time, and it has mostly brought the coronavirus outbreak under control, the ministry’s department of import and export said in the proposal addressed to premier Nguyen Xuan Phuc. Vietnam is the world’s third-largest exporter.
