Trying to snack healthy? U.S. consumers have likely been making more guacamole and avocado toast at home, as evidenced by Mexican prices of the fruit rising to the highest level since August 2019. The surge in demand comes simultaneously with growers reducing crop gathering to avoid flooding the market. Those factors have been compounded by the typical harvest slowdown that takes place during the Easter holiday, which means “no avocados in the pipeline for now,” said David Magana, senior analyst for Rabobank International in Fresno, California.
