Via Transportation Inc., which operates shared ride-hailing services in several cities and provides software to dozens of transit agencies, has raised a major funding round and more than doubled its valuation even as the pandemic hammers the global transportation industry.

The funding round, which has been in the works for months, is being led by Exor NV, an Italian holding company that also holds stakes in Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV and Ferrari NV. Exor invested $200 million, Via said on Monday.
