New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy said his state is requesting 2,500 ventilators from the federal government’s stockpile in response to the coronavirus crisis.

Murphy gave a number at a press conference on Thursday afternoon. Ventilators are a vital need in treating serious cases of Covid-19, and many health authorities have expressed concern about shortages of them.
