U.S. shoppers spent $9.4 billion online on Cyber Monday -- up almost 20% from a year ago and a record -- boosting an already robust holiday shopping season.

Adobe Inc., which tracks transactions across 80 of the top 100 U.S. online retailers, said almost a third of Cyber Monday sales happened on smartphones. Consumers also bought more items and bigger-ticket products this year, Adobe said.
