California Girds for More Blackouts as Fires Force Evacuations
- Some residents are apt to be without power for days to come
- Fires have already damaged about $25.4 billion in property

Californians are bracing for their fourth massive blackout this month as powerful winds return and wildfires force hundreds of thousands of evacuations across the state.
While PG&E Corp. is attempting to restore power to more than 3 million people, the bankrupt utility giant also warned of more shutdowns Tuesday as it seeks to keep electric lines from sparking blazes during high winds. Much of the region remains dark, including parts of the San Francisco Bay Area, and some residents are apt to be without electricity for days to come.
