Kane Brenan, who oversaw a $130 billion business at Goldman Sachs Group Inc.’s asset-management arm, is leaving after working with some of the largest pension and endowment clients on their investing strategies.

Greg Calnon, who has worked under Brenan for about a decade and also is a partner at the firm, will take over leadership of the 150-person operation known as the Global Portfolio Solutions Group, according to interviews with Brenan and Calnon. The unit includes the outsourced investment officer business, called OCIO, where large investors give Goldman the mandate to choose fund managers and make other investing decisions.
