Dartmouth Joins Five Endowments Posting a Slide in Performance

The early returns from college endowments are in: it may be a year to forget.

Six schools that have reported fiscal 2019 returns so far have all seen their performance slip from the previous year. Dartmouth College, the first Ivy League school out of the gate, said it gained 7.5%, a little more than half of last year’s result. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology had its performance chopped by about a third.
