Treasury Minister Liz Truss -- a prominent supporter of Boris Johnson’s bid to become prime minister -- said the U.K.’s Conservative Party should make the case for a Margaret Thatcher-style low-tax economic policy to boost growth after Brexit.
Asked at a lunch in Parliament which of the last two Chancellors of the Exchequer she preferred -- Philip Hammond or George Osborne, she instead chose Nigel Lawson, who presided over dramatic tax cuts in the 1980s.
