Traders Increase Russia Rate-Cut Bets After Dovish Signal

Currency traders increased wagers for monetary easing in Russia this year after the central bank governor set a dovish tone. Slowing inflation growth may allow policy makers to cut as much as 50 basis points at their meeting this month, Elvira Nabiullina said on Thursday. That helped to send forward rates on the ruble down, signaling 75 basis points of cuts in the next nine months.
