Chad Names Ex-State Oil Head as Finance Minister in Reshuffle

Chad’s President Idriss Deby has sacked his finance minister and replaced him with a former head of the state oil company, according to a statement from the presidency.
Taher Hamit Nguilign, a former deputy governor of the Bank of Central African States who previously served as director-general of Societe des Hydrocarbures du Tchad, replaces Mahamat Allali Abakar, who has held the post since September, according to a decree read on state television.
