Alex Rodriguez failed to turn a double play Thursday when one of two paintings from his collection went unsold at auction and the other came in below expectations.

A-Rod, as he’s known from a baseball career that spanned more than two decades, offered works by Jean-Michel Basquiat and Richard Prince at Phillips auction house in London. Together, they were estimated at as much as 5 million pounds ($6.3 million).
