Denmark’s Social Democrats and their center-left allies have agreed to form a government set on greater welfare spending, higher taxes and one of the most ambitious climate policies in the world.
Party leader Mette Frederiksen was to inform Queen Margrethe II on Wednesday that she will lead a one-party government backed by three other parties, giving it a majority in parliament. At the age of 41, Frederiksen becomes Denmark’s youngest prime minister, and only the second woman to lead the Scandinavian nation.
