Morgan Stanley Hires Top Hedge Fund Quant to Boost AI Strategy

Morgan Stanley hired Yuriy Nevmyvaka, a quant trader who had worked at SAC Capital Advisors, to help lead its expanding effort to deploy AI throughout the bank.

Nevmyvaka, 39, joins Morgan Stanley as head of applied AI research and will work in partnership with artificial intelligence executive Vivek Mago, the firm said Monday in memo to employees. Nevmyvaka has more than a decade of experience as a researcher, portfolio manager and chief investment officer at several hedge funds and firms including Bank of America Corp.
