The White House on Monday received a sweeping request for documents from the House Judiciary Committee chairman that extends beyond material the administration provided to Special Counsel Robert Mueller, according to a person familiar with the matter.
The Judiciary chairman, Democrat Jerrold Nadler of New York, is seeking information on subjects including payments or emoluments to Trump businesses by foreign governments, the firings of then-National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and then-FBI Director James Comey, and deliberations over the recusal of then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions from the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, the person said.
