Prince Charles insists he will follow in the footsteps of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, and “operate within the constitutional parameters” of life as monarch, the Telegraph reported, citing an interview to be broadcast on BBC One to mark his 70th birthday.

His current life’s work as the Prince of Wales, which has included wading into controversial issues such as architecture or genetically modified food, will be “completely different” from the role he will one day accede to, he said in the interview.
