Georgia, which fought a 2008 war with Russia over breakaway territories backed by Moscow, is determined to gain entry to NATO and the European Union, said Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze.

“Our top priority is to become a fully-fledged member of the European Union and NATO,’’ Bakhtadze said on Bloomberg Television on Thursday. “Membership of Georgia in NATO will make the region more sustainable, more prosperous.”
