Brazilian farmers, one of the most influential groups in a country that’s the biggest supplier of soybeans to orange juice, are going all-in for conservative candidate Jair Bolsonaro as the threat of a return of the left looms with just weeks to go until the presidential elections.

Landowners across the country have emerged as some of Bolsonaro’s fiercest backers, giving him a large advantage over other candidates in agricultural heartlands of the Center-West and Southern regions. It’s a blow to candidates like Ciro Gomes and Geraldo Alckmin, who both picked running mates with close ties to the sector in hopes of boosting their bids.
