Investments in global clean-energy projects totaled $76.7 billion in the second quarter, up 8 percent from a year earlier. That brought the 2018 total to $137.8 billion, down 1.1 percent from a year earlier and the lowest in four years. To reach $300 billion, as happened from 2014 to 2017, would take the largest second-half investment since 2015, according to data in Bloomberg NEF’s Clean Energy Investment Trends report.
