Hong Kong may be the world’s most expensive city for expatriates, but Zurich costs most for a night out. While a cinema ticket is pricier in London, just adding a hamburger meal propels the Swiss financial hub to the top of the list, according to a cost-of-living report produced by consultancy Mercer. Indigestible meat prices have long been an issue in Switzerland, with a 2017 study finding that the price of beef was as much as 150 percent higher than the world average.
