Migration and terrorism are the main challenges facing the European Union, according to the latest Eurobarometer survey of public opinion across the 28-nation bloc. The results of the poll, commissioned by the EU, show how the rhetoric of populist parties resonates with voters, even as the pace of arrivals has markedly dropped since the peak of the migration crisis in 2015. In countries including Italy, respondents also placed migration among the top issues of national concern.
