New Jersey Transit in January had its worst monthly on-time rail performance since it was forced to cut service last summer to deal with Amtrak’s emergency track repairs at New York Pennsylvania Station.
Just 87.5 percent of trains systemwide arrived within six minutes of schedule, NJ Transit’s worst performance since June. Of those headed to Manhattan during the morning rush hour, 74 percent were on time, according to NJ Transit’s monthly performance report.
