Elon Musk is a man with quite a few balls in the air. On Tuesday afternoon, he watched the private rocket company that he runs, SpaceX, successfully launch its first Falcon Heavy. On Wednesday afternoon, Musk’s electric automaker, Tesla Inc., is expected to reveal fresh details on the ongoing struggle to produce its first mass-market car.
Information-starved investors will be on high alert for fourth-quarter earnings, as will hundreds of thousands of would-be drivers waiting for Tesla to produce and deliver their new cars. Wall Street appears optimistic: Shares were up as much as 3.6 percent in New York, the biggest intraday move in almost a month.
