Sell-side analysts in emerging Asia have a big problem, and it's not MiFID II.
Even after a 45 percent gain in the MSCI Asia ex-Japan Index since the start of last year, brokerages remain staunchly positive on the region's blue chips. Of the 7,000 ratings on the benchmark's 272 stocks with a market capitalization of $10 billion or more, there are only 649 sell recommendations.
