A joint venture between AES Corp. and Siemens AG has begun offering a rare form of financing for customers installing batteries, a move designed to get the fledgling industry off the ground.
Fluence Energy will use the resources of Siemens’s financial services business to give customers the option of leasing or taking out financing to pay for installations, the Arlington, Virginia-based company said Thursday. The joint venture that was announced last year gained government approvals to start business operations on Jan. 1.
