Sales of battery-electric vehicles are expected to extend their worldwide lead over plug-in hybrids thanks to Chinese policy, according to a new report from Bloomberg New Energy Finance. BEVs took at least 60 percent of the market for all four quarters of the year that ended in September. China, where subsidies are skewed toward BEVs, accounts for the entire global gap.
