Cuban President Raul Castro Will Stay in Office Until April
- Parliament votes to delay transition from Castro by two months
- Castro was previously scheduled to step down on Feb. 24

A Castro will be Cuba’s president for at least a little longer.
Raul Castro, who replaced his brother Fidel as Cuba’s president in 2008, will remain in the post two months longer than originally scheduled after the National Assembly voted Thursday to extend the current legislative term until April 19. Castro had previously announced he would step down Feb. 24.
