Southeast Asia Earns Bullish Forecasts for 2018 Growth

Southeast Asia's economies are set to largely keep pace with this year's growth in 2018

Economists see another solid year for growth in Southeast Asia, with the six main economies largely keeping up the gains from a trade-fueled year in 2017. The Philippines and Vietnam will retain the top spots with growth at 6.6 percent and 6.5 percent. Indonesia, the biggest economy in the region, will pick up momentum to 5.3 percent growth from 5.1 percent this year, while the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore will show little change to the pace of expansion, according to economists’ median estimates in Bloomberg surveys.
