Facebook Inc. unveiled a new version of its Messenger app for children, opening up a new front in its battle for younger users with Snap Inc.
Unlike Facebook’s regular apps or its Instagram photo-sharing service, Messenger Kids doesn’t require users to be 13 years old. Instead, parents have full control over their children’s contact list and the app doesn’t require users to have their own Facebook account.
