McConnell Predicts No Government Shutdown as House Sets Plan

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell predicted that the government would remain open past this week, a day after House Republicans announced a plan for a two-week extension of federal funding that would avoid a shutdown on Dec. 8.
“Look, there’s not going to be a government shutdown,” McConnell said on ABC’s “This week” program on Sunday. “It’s just not going to happen.”
