The U.S. and Russian envoys for the Ukraine crisis will meet later this month to explore deploying United Nations peacekeepers to the eastern part of the country in an effort to jump-start the stalled Minsk peace process.

Kurt Volker of the U.S. and Russia’s Vladislav Surkov will meet Nov. 13 in Belgrade for a “discussion of principles” to see if they can agree on what a peacekeeping force might look like, Volker told reporters in Washington on Friday. “We are not in agreement on this yet,” he said.
