Why You Should Usually Book Your Hotel a Month Before Your Flight
Hopper, the app that helps you determine the perfect time to book your airfare, is turning its attention to an area that’s ripe for ever deeper savings: hotels.
This Wednesday it launches a new feature to track hotel prices and forecast whether rates are expected to rise or fall—first in New York City, with plans to start expanding nationwide in early 2018. Based on regression data, the app has shown the potential to save users an average of $270 per week-long trip, or as much as $720 over eight nights. “This means you’ll be able to leverage Hopper’s technology for far more savings when it comes to hotels,” Frederic Lalonde, the company’s founder and chief executive, told Bloomberg. By comparison, the app saves users $50 on the average domestic flight, or $120 per international flight.
