The Edmond de Rothschild group is investing 100 million euros ($119 million) of cash in a new Four Seasons hotel in Megeve in the French Alps as the banking dynasty reaffirms its commitment to the ski resort it began building in 1920.

“I wanted to make sure that what the previous generations of Rothschilds have built can live on in the future,” Ariane de Rothschild, president of the group’s executive committee, said at a press conference in Paris on Wednesday.
