Fighters, suspected to be from the Islamist militant group Boko Haram, killed 11 people in an attack on a camp for internally displaced persons in the northern Nigerian border town of Banki near the border with Cameroon, a vigilante group said.
The militants used knives in the attack on the camp, which is situated about 130 kilometers (81 miles) from Borno’s capital, Maiduguri, on Thursday night, Abdu Salihu, a member of the vigilante group the Civilian Joint Task Force in the border town, said by phone on Saturday.
