Millennials Pair Big SUVs With New Homes in U.S. Suburbs

Need for more cargo space climbs as younger Americans start families

Millennials are buying big. As the generation of Americans aged about 18 to 34 have become the largest group of home buyers, they’re upsizing their vehicles to accommodate growing families. Sales of midsize SUVs will increase 16 percent between now and 2022, while deliveries of the biggest rigs -- think Ford Expeditions and Chevrolet Tahoes -- will jump 25 percent, according to a forecast by researcher LMC Automotive.
