Vinci SA, Europe’s largest construction firm, is weighing an offer for a controlling stake in Groupe ADP if the French government decides to privatize the airport operator, people familiar with the matter said.

Vinci, which holds 8 percent of ADP, is working with financial advisers as it explores a bid for the business, the people said, asking not to be identified as the information is private. ADP shares have risen 25 percent since Emmanuel Macron topped the first round of voting in the presidential election in April, giving the Paris-based company a market value of about 14.3 billion euros ($15.9 billion).
