Uber Technologies Inc. plans to appoint TPG’s David Trujillo to the board, replacing his colleague David Bonderman, who resigned after making a sexist joke, people familiar with the matter said.

Trujillo was tapped for the board because he’s already familiar with the company’s inner-workings, the people said. They asked not to be identified discussing private personnel changes.
